The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazonis fundamental to our operations - they're the ones keeping vitalmachinery running at all times. As an RME Technician, you'llmaintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholdingHealth and Safety best practices. You'll help to keep yourcolleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. Our RME Techniciansboost the availability and quality of our equipment and work toenhance the operational environment too.

A day in thelife
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they canrespond quickly to any machinery issues. You'll carry out a rangeof planned preventative maintenance to our sites' equipment to makesure it's working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respondpromptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementingsolutions as quickly as possible. You'll also make suggestions forlong-term improvements.
Working alongsidesenior colleagues, you'll undertake day-to-day maintenance taskslike painting and plumbing and will liaise with contractors if youneed external expertise. You'll work on a range of shifts to makesure our sites are supported around the clock - allowing Amazon todeliver at the speed we're known for.

We work together to maintain, troubleshoot andrepair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they workon exciting technology - some of which only exists atAmazon.
From installing automated packagingsystems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site torepairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspectsof Amazon's technical side. This includes keeping buildings legallycompliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating atmaximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunities forprogression, both within the RME team and more widely acrossAmazon.
Everything we do focuses on reducingdowntime in Amazon's crucial operations sites, so customers gettheir orders on time. We often work during early or late hours tocarry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including nightshifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skillsand the opportunity to develop and introduce completely newprocesses or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our ComplexItem Sorter.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS •Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/orqualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevantEngineering subject (City & Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ)
• Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
• Relevant experience working in mechanical and/orelectrical maintenance
• Advanced proficiency in thelocal language verbally and in writing
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS
• Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND,BSc, BEng
• Experience in condition-based monitoring
• Experience working with print and apply machines
• Experience in fault-finding and maintaining conveyoror automation systems
