Management Accountant

Management  Accountant Fully Remote Up to £350 per day depending on experience Two-month project The Opportunity Our client is acquiring a small company that lacks detailed historical data. We are looking for a skilled accountant to come in and rebuild an accurate picture of the previous two years to integrate with their accounting data. The company Our client provides bespoke tuition and mentoring programmes to young people with additional educational needs. This is a great business to work with and support on their journey. How you will deliver You will contribute to the short-term goal of creating an accurate and detailed picture of the previous two years. You will also need to quickly understand how the finance department works in our client’s business and look to mirror that in the newly acquired company's setup in the future. Roles and responsibilities Move newly acquired company from Quickbooks to Xero - prior experience here would be ideal. Aim is to move all transactions and so recreate accurate month by month position Support the acquired company finance team with the transition to Xero Map & align the newly acquired company trial balance to group companies (for consistent reporting) Review monthly P&Ls by month for last 2 years and make any necessary adjustments to align with financial statements (i.e. journals posted by external accountant) Set up monthly balance sheet reconciliation process (support may be required in the wider group here as well) Support implementation of delegated authority matrix Support CFO in preparation of completion accounts Potential ad-hoc support on chasing aged debtors Your skills and experience Qualified accountant (either accountant or finance manager level) Must be someone that can work autonomously and has done similar projects before. Envisage weekly updates with CFO (and ad hoc questions) but largely left to themselves to deliver this. Someone that enjoys this and getting stuck into the detail themselves.
