Emerging Markets Investment Director - Guyana Based

The Emerging Markets Investment Director will establish and manage a small investment fund for a family office in an entrepreneurial environment based in Guyana. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up the fund, raising external capital, and overseeing all operations, with a significant focus on opportunities in emerging markets, particularly in Guyana. Key Responsibilities: Establish, structure and lead a new investment vehicle with a focus on emerging markets Develop and implement the fund's investment strategy, capitalizing on market opportunities Identify and evaluate investment opportunities and raise capital from external investors to complement family office funds Recruit and manage a team of investment professionals and support staff with relevant market expertise Oversee due diligence processes and deal execution in diverse market environments Monitor and optimize portfolio performance across various markets Maintain relationships with investors, partners, and stakeholders, including those in emerging markets Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards across multiple jurisdictions Personal Skills: Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and grow a business in challenging environments Adaptable and comfortable with frequent travel or relocation, especially to emerging market countries Strong cultural sensitivity and international business acumen High level of integrity and professional ethics Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across diverse cultures Demonstrated willingness to work and travel extensively overseas, predominantly in South America Qualifications: 15 years of experience in investment management, investment banking, or related fields, including significant exposure to emerging markets Proven track record in fund establishment and management, particularly involving emerging market investments Strong network of investors and industry contacts, including those in key emerging markets Excellent leadership and team management skills in diverse cultural settings Outstanding analytical and decision-making abilities, especially in evaluating emerging market opportunities Comprehensive understanding of financial markets, with particular depth in emerging markets Extensive knowledge of project finance and M&A work, with a focus on emerging market transactions Understanding of economic trends and geopolitical factors affecting global and emerging market investments
