Site Engineer - Major Infrastructure Project - Plymouth
Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure project at Devonport Docks in Plymouth. This is a contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a critical project with a leading contractor.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Site Agent in overseeing all aspects of the project, including planning, coordination, and execution of works.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of site staff, including technicians, surveyors, and operatives.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage and resolve technical issues that arise on site, ensuring timely and efficient solutions.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including site surveys, drawings, reports, and safety records.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- A strong understanding of construction methods and processes, particularly within the infrastructure sector.
Experience working on complex projects, ideally within a naval dockyard or similar environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working with leading construction companies in the UK.
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
Experience with construction software, such as AutoCAD and BIM.
