Electricians Mate

We are supporting our client to recruit for an electricians mate on a full time permanent basis. This role is a field based role so it is essential you have a full clean drivers license to allow you to drive to multiple client sites.
The role is travelling between Oxford, Bishops Stortford, Corby and Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities for the Electricians Mate:

• Help electricians install electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and control systems.
• Pass tools and materials to electricians during installation work.
• Prepare work areas and assist with setting up electrical equipment.
• Perform basic electrical tasks like installing or replacing sockets, switches, and light fixtures.
• Run cables and conduit under the guidance of a qualified electrician.
• Terminate cables, connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other electrical components.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, clearing debris and ensuring that tools are properly stored.
• Assist with scaffold setup, ladders, and other worksite infrastructure as needed.
• Coordinate with other trades on the job site to ensure the smooth completion of projects.

Key Skills for the Electricians Mate:
- Full clean driver licence
- Good communication is vital for collaborating with electricians and understanding project requirements.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role
- Familiarity with electrical systems, tools, and safety practices is essential. This often comes from vocational training or relevant courses.
