Head of Software Engineering, London, £150,000 - £170,000 Join my client, a rapidly growing SaaS Fintech scale-up, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of financial technology. With excellent funding and a mission to scale globally, this is a unique opportunity for a Head of Engineering to drive innovation, lead a high-performing team, and have a direct impact on the growth of a groundbreaking platform used by companies globally. The Role: As the Head of Engineering, you will take full ownership of the technology strategy, ensuring that it aligns with the overall business objectives. You’ll lead a growing team of 15 talented engineers, work closely with the Head of Product, and oversee the development of cutting-edge features for their flagship compliance platform, which ensures the integrity of transaction reporting for global investment banks. This is a key leadership position where you’ll combine your technical expertise with strategic planning, optimizing both the technology stack and the operational processes to fuel rapid growth. Your Key Responsibilities: Strategic Technology Leadership: Define, plan, and execute the technology roadmap, ensuring it supports business growth and aligns with product objectives. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, inspire, and grow a diverse engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture that promotes innovation. Driving Growth: Help build a scalable, cross-functional technology department that can support international expansion and product enhancement. Performance & Best Practices: Establish coding standards, ensure best practices are followed, and maintain a high level of software quality across the team. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, board members, and technology partners like AWS, to ensure seamless alignment and delivery. Innovation & Automation: Lead strategic initiatives in automation, AI/ML integration, and real-time analytics, keeping the platform at the forefront of financial technology. Key Technical Competencies: Python Expertise: Deep experience in leading Python Engineers, particularly for backend services, AI/ML pipelines, and data analytics. AI/ML Mastery: Proven track record in building and scaling AI/ML solutions, using frameworks like TensorFlow and AWS SageMaker. Real-Time Data Analytics: Experience with real-time data processing tools such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or Apache Flink. Cloud-Native Architectures: Extensive knowledge of AWS, microservices architecture, and DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab, and Terraform.
