Infrastructure Cloud Engineer Hybrid
City of London
£65,000 - £70,000

They are looking for an Infrastructure Cloud Engineer (Not a DevOps Engineer) to join their team on a permanent, full time basis and who will work on the design, implementation, and management of the cloud infrastructure, primarily focusing on Azure.
Technical oversight and mentorship will be provided to enhance both consulting and technical skills!
Infrastructure Cloud Engineer - Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) : Utilize tools like Terraform to provision and manage Azure resources. Deploy and configure virtual machines, AVD, storage, networking, and other Azure services according to project requirements. Also, must have worked as an Infrastructure on-prem and cloud engineer / architect or relevant experience
CI/CD Pipelines : Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools. Create and configure build and release pipelines for automated application deployments, ensuring efficient software delivery and version control.
Cloud Migration : Lead the migration of on-premises applications and infrastructure to Azure. Plan and execute migration strategies, considering application dependencies, data transfer, security, and performance optimization.
Automation : Develop scripts and automation workflows using PowerShell or other scripting languages to automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, and management tasks, implementing IaC practices for consistent deployments.
Azure Security : Implement Azure security principles, including identity and access management, network security, data protection, and compliance requirements. Ensure adherence to security standards and best practices.
Monitoring : Set up monitoring rules and alerts using Azure Monitor or similar tools. Define and configure metrics, monitor system health, and proactively resolve issues to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Technical Support : Act as a technical expert, providing support and troubleshooting for on-prem and cloud infrastructure and applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve problems and minimise operational disruptions.
Documentation : Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Share knowledge and best practices with the team.
Microsoft 365 Management : Ensure the operational health of the Microsoft 365 environment, including security, availability, maintenance, performance, interoperability, and reliability.
On-Call Support : Provide support through an on-call rotation outside of core working hours, Monday-Sunday, for business-critical needs only.
Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Proven experience leading complex IT projects throughout the lifecycle (Analysis, Architecture, Design, Build, Test & Production), including on-prem systems to cloud migration, Hyperconverged Infrastructure optimization, Microsoft Modern Workplace, Modern Data Protection, and BCP/DR refresh.
Proficiency in provisioning Azure resources using IaC tools like Terraform.
Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tools for pipeline development and release management.
Strong knowledge of Azure monitoring and alerting tools, such as Azure Monitor.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or other scripting languages.
Working experience of at least 2-3 years with on-prem systems to provide L3 support
Familiarity with Azure security principles, identity management, and compliance requirements.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-400) are a plus.
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
