Senior Community Fundraiser

We are looking for a proactive Senior Community Fundraiser to engage individuals in local communities to maximise income generation by developing and maintaining relationships.

Location: Cambridge / Hybrid
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and proactive Senior Community Fundraiser to join a leading healthcare charity. The charity is dedicated to improving patient care through innovative projects and fundraising campaigns that go above and beyond NHS funding. With ambitious new campaigns underway, including the development of a new cancer hospital and children's hospital, they are seeking an experienced fundraiser to help drive community engagement and maximise income generation.

The Senior Community Fundraiser will be responsible for developing and delivering community fundraising strategies, focusing on schools, groups, and challenge events across a six-county region. This role will play a key part in nurturing long-term relationships with supporters, ensuring excellent stewardship, and helping to create a meaningful impact.

About you:

The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record in community fundraising. You will have the ability to manage multiple priorities, work to tight deadlines, and inspire and motivate supporters. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, as is a strategic mindset focused on driving growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategy for community fundraising with a focus on schools, groups, and challenge events.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive growth and deliver effective fundraising activities across the region.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with fundraisers, providing ongoing support to maximise their contributions.
  • Work with colleagues across departments to identify and capitalise on opportunities for engagement.
  • Monitor progress towards income targets, contributing to the broader fundraising strategy.
  • Act as an ambassador for community fundraising and raise awareness of the charity's work.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in community fundraising within a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies that deliver results.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with experience engaging a wide range of supporters.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for making a difference in healthcare.
