Interim Deputy Financial Controller Reading - Hybrid working 06 months contract Who We Are: Our Client is a cutting-edge, forward-thinking company, operating at the forefront of our industry. As our client continue to grow, we're looking for an ambitious and skilled Deputy Financial Controller to join our client finance team and play a key role in driving financial excellence across the business. What you'll do: As Deputy Financial Controller, you'll lead financial reporting, statutory accounts, tax compliance, and audit activities, all while driving process improvements and maintaining financial accuracy. You'll manage key month-end and year-end processes and play an integral role in ensuring balance sheet integrity and compliance with accounting standards. Reporting Structure: You'll report directly to our Financial Controller and lead a Finance Analyst, working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: Owning the month-end close process and providing insightful analysis on balance sheet movements. Coordinating up to three audits annually (company and joint ventures). Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and overseeing corporation tax returns. Leading finance improvement projects and collaborating closely with our Systems Accountant to optimize processes. Managing a talented Finance Analyst who will support you on delivering high-quality results. Experience Required: A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with extensive experience in financial reporting, audit management, and IFRS standards. Familiarity with joint venture accounting, group consolidations, and Agresso finance systems (bonus points for telecoms experience!). A keen eye for detail, balancing hands-on work with strategic oversight. A track record of successful stakeholder management and the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively.
