Carrying out site surveys to determine requirements and to assist with pricing for installation works with varying degrees of design requirements. Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems. Documenting the design process. Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets. Liaising with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence. Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals. Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices. Present proposals to clients and external project team members. Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/relevant degree A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer. Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices. The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.Skills and Qualifications Chartered engineer status Exceptional problem-solving and math skills Strong attention to detail Proficiency in using common design software, such as AutoCAD etc. Project management and leadership skills Product-focused creative thinking Excellent written and verbal communication skills Organisation and effective time management In-depth knowledge of industry design principles Commercially astute and aware. Understands where discretion is required with Company and client information. Has the ability to work with various forms of software and be able to learn new software.
