Job Overview: As a Plain Film Radiographer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality radiographic imaging services across various clinical environments. Your responsibilities will include delivering exceptional patient care through precise imaging techniques and ensuring compliance with radiation safety standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for assessing referrals, making autonomous decisions on examination appropriateness, and maintaining accurate patient records using electronic systems. We currently have four ultrasound machines and an X-ray machine with a CT and MRI machine to come next year. Responsibilities: Act as a HCPC Registered Radiographer, participating in multi-modality imaging services. Provide excellent radiographic imaging, technique, and patient positioning to ensure high-quality patient care. Maintain radiation doses at minimum levels using ALARP principle and dose reduction factors. Assess and justify referrals under IRR17, IR(ME)R 2017 guidelines, including complex and acute cases. Make autonomous decisions on examination appropriateness to aid clinical diagnosis. Follow established examination protocols and liaise with Consultant Radiologists for optimum technique. Utilise Electronic Patient Records (EPR) and Radiology Information System (RIS) for patient registration, ordering, and scheduling, ensuring accurate patient records. Utilise the Picture Archive & Communication System (PACS) to maintain optimum image quality. Participate in the Quality Assurance equipment testing programme. Person Specification: Experience: Recent and extensive post-registration experience at Band 5 level. Proven clinical experience across various radiographic equipment and techniques. Qualifications: HCPC Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council. BSc Degree in Radiography or equivalent radiographic qualification, DCR(R). Evidence of current Continuing Professional Development activity. Desirable: Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent postgraduate experience. Experience of staff supervision and/or training.
