*Doctors Direct* have an exciting opportunity for a *Psychiatrist Consultant *to work with us at *Barnet, West CAHMS *in *Child and Adolescent neurodevelopmental, Psychiatry.*Not sure what skills you will need for this opportunity Simply read the full description below to get a complete picture of candidate requirements.We are looking for a doctor dedicated to, and passionate about, improving health and wellbeing within the Edgeware Community on the ward in outpatient services.*Your key responsibilities will be to:** Assessment and Diagnosis* Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and neurodevelopmental assessments, including clinical interviews.* Diagnose a range of neurodevelopmental disorders such as ASD, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and Tourette’s syndrome, often alongside co-occurring mental health issues (e.g., anxiety, depression).* Formulation and Treatment Planning:* Develop individualized care plans that include pharmacological (e.g., prescribing medications like stimulants for ADHD) and non-pharmacological interventions (e.g., cognitive-behavioural therapy, family therapy).* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (e.g., psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists) to ensure holistic care for the child and family.* Management of Complex Cases:* Work with children with complex needs, which may include challenging behaviour’s, severe autism, or comorbid psychiatric conditions.* Provide crisis intervention and support to families in managing behaviours and symptoms that disrupt daily life.* Family and Caregiver Support:* Offer guidance to families and caregivers, helping them understand the child's diagnosis, treatment options, and how to support their child’s development.* Liaison with Schools and Other Agencies:* Work closely with schools, educational psychologists, and social services to coordinate support in educational settings.* Provide expert advice to external agencies on managing children with NDDs in various contexts (e.g., school, community).* Medication Management:* Prescribe and monitor the use of medications for managing symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, and other co-occurring conditions.* Ensure that treatment is evidence-based, regularly reviewed, and tailored to the child’s changing needs.* Risk Assessment:* Carry out risk assessments for children with self-harm tendencies, aggressive behaviour, or other risky behaviours.* Develop safety plans and coordinate with external services (e.g., social workers) when necessary.*Details about the roles:** *Speciality*: Psychiatry* *Location*: Edgeware Community Hospital – Ward outpatient services* *Days per week:* Monday - Friday 9am -5pm - Remote working: one day per week only* *Start date*: ASAP* *Rate of pay: *Negotiable* Essential special training: S12 / AC* *Payment method: PAYE *we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies*Benefits*:* Weekly pay* Book and review shift online* Your own dedicated contact and local on-site support* 24/7 support line* Competitive pay rates* Access to CPD webinars* Appraisal & revalidation support from dedicated team*About you:** Valid GMC* Right to work in the UK* Clinical attachment complete – We do not offer placements in the NHS* Minimum of 6 months paid experience in the NHS/UK*How to apply?*To find out more about this opportunity and others please email your CV to [email protected] For the attention of Melanie Burton._As an equal opportunities’ organisation, NHSP is committed to the equal treatment of all current and prospective bank members and does not condone discrimination on the basis of age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender reassignment, or marriage and civil partnership.
