Job Title: Director of Quantitative Credit Risk Location: UK (Remote for Middle East Projects) Job Type: Full-time Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Quantitative Credit Risk to join our consultancy, focusing on expanding our UK operations while leading critical projects for our clients in the Middle East. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in quantitative credit risk, consulting expertise, and a strong business development acumen. The ideal candidate will spend 30% of their time driving business development efforts to grow the UK team and 70% managing and delivering client projects in the Middle East, which can be conducted remotely. Key Responsibilities: Business Development (30%) Develop and execute strategies to grow the consultancy’s UK quantitative credit risk practice. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including building relationships with key stakeholders and clients in the UK market. Lead client pitches, proposals, and presentations, ensuring the team is positioned as a leading provider of credit risk consulting services. Collaborate with marketing and other internal teams to increase brand visibility and market presence in the UK. Foster and mentor a growing UK team of credit risk professionals, focusing on talent acquisition and retention. Project Delivery & Leadership (70%) Oversee and manage the successful delivery of quantitative credit risk projects for clients in the Middle East, primarily working remotely. Design and implement credit risk models, including PD, LGD, and EAD, as well as stress testing frameworks and risk-based capital assessment techniques. Ensure that client engagements meet timelines, budgets, and client expectations, while maintaining high-quality standards. Provide thought leadership on emerging credit risk regulations, trends, and best practices, particularly as they pertain to the Middle Eastern financial market. Lead project teams, providing guidance and mentorship to junior consultants and analysts. Requirements: Education: A Master’s degree or PhD in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Experience: 10 years of experience in quantitative credit risk, with at least 5 years in a consultancy setting. Proven experience in business development, with a demonstrated ability to grow a practice or team. Strong experience delivering credit risk solutions, including the design and implementation of quantitative models. Deep understanding of global credit risk regulations (e.g., Basel II/III, IFRS 9, stress testing), with a particular focus on the Middle East markets. Skills: Exceptional quantitative modeling skills with proficiency in statistical software such as Python, R, or SAS. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior executives. Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple client engagements. Ability to work effectively in a remote and cross-cultural environment. Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus but not required.
