Estimator (M, E, or Fabric)
Location: Fleet, Hampshire
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per year (dependent on experience)
Hexis Talent is recruiting on behalf of a friendly, regional contractor based in Fleet, Hampshire. Due to continued business growth, the client is seeking an experienced Estimator with knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, or Fabric to join their estimating team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects throughout the South East, Home Counties, South, and parts of the South West, ranging from £50k to in excess of £3m.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business, working on a diverse portfolio of public-funded and blue-chip clients. The role will involve estimating multiple works simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimating works within the required timeframes to deliver successful projects.
- Conducting material take-offs and procurement of materials.
- Attending pre-tender meetings as necessary.
- Effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders regarding materials and design changes.
- Identifying potential design issues that could impact project delivery.
- Collaborating with the supply chain to ensure smooth project execution.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience as an Estimator or similar role within the Construction and/or FM sector.
- Strong client-facing skills with excellent commercial acumen.
- Effective communication and negotiating abilities.
- A solid understanding of risk and issue management, including mitigation strategies.
- The ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
