About the role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in ASD, you’ll be a key support for Key Stage 1 and 2 students, adapting learning materials and providing hands-on support to enhance their individual progress. You’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to create an environment where each child can thrive, whether it’s through personalised learning strategies, calming sensory activities, or interactive play-based learning. Your creativity, patience, and understanding will be essential in helping students build confidence and accomplish personal milestones.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. • A patient, positive, and empathetic approach. • Teamwork skills to collaborate with staff and therapists. • Relevant qualifications in SEN or willingness to complete training. • A genuine passion for fostering each child’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting ASD students with individualised education plans. • Implementing and adapting established learning and sensory activities. • Helping learners develop social, communication, and life skills. • Engaging with the therapy team to implement specialist recommendations. • Celebrating achievements and milestones, big and small.
