Edge Careers are currently looking to speak with experienced 'Health & Safety Advisors' within the construction sector.
My client is a Groundworks Contractor that predominantly works within the Residential Sector.
This role will cover Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire areas, operating within a 1 hour radius of Bedford.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to come in and implement their experience and processes within the business.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare health & safety strategies and develop internal policy
- Planning and attending visiting sites
- Providing assistance with the implementation of Health & Safety policies, procedures and ensuring that all compliance with Health & Safety legislation is met
- Attending Pre-commencement meetings to proactively contribute to initial decisions made by the contract team
- Reviewing the production of risk assessments and method statements
- Conducting audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and helping write reports on their findings
- Promote a positive H&S culture with the company
- Identify training needs and delivering on site training including toolbox talks
- Investigate accidents and incidents
- Produce RAMS
The successful Health & Safety Advisor will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role ideally from within the Construction/Groundworks/Civils sector
- Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH / NEBOSH or other relevant statutes)
- Excellent Communication Skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as well as contributing to a team and company strategy
- Efficient auditing / monitoring skills
- Full Driving License
