Teacher of English Location: York, North Yorkshire Start Date: November 2024 or January 2025 Salary: £31650 – £49,084 per annum; this position is suitable for ECTs Contract: Supply, Temporary, Part-Time or Full-Time GSL Education is an ethical, inclusive, and independent recruitment agency, committed to providing quality teaching and support staff in schools throughout North Yorkshire. As such, we are currently recruiting for a Teacher of English to join our York-based team from November 2024 or January 2025. You will undertake a long-term placement on a part-time or full-time basis, and in some situations, where appropriate, direct contracts are available. As the successful Teacher of English, you will: Be a qualified teacher with a PGCE, GTP, BEd, Cert Ed or BA with QTS, and have recent experience of working as a Teacher of English in the UK. Be able to teach KS3 and KS4 English Language and Literature. A-Level teaching experience is desirable, but not essential. Be proven to raise and maintain attainment levels, keeping standards high. Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who leads by example. Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills with all individuals, including pupils, colleagues and parents and carers. Provide intervention and tutoring sessions where appropriate, mainly for borderline GCSE students.
