The Opportunity Our client is currently searching for an experienced Contracts Team Leader to become responsible for managing the tendered and contracted business elements of the client portfolio and to line manage a team of 6. The working hours will be Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. There will also be the option of hybrid working up to 2 days per week. Your duties and responsibilities will be Lead (project manage) the tender process for all business streams and work closely with the senior sales and marketing management team to complete tender submissions. Review the Contracts Advance report daily as an additional check to ensure all potential opportunities are captured. To ensure a high standard and consistent approach is taken with all tenders to improve tender success. Cover bid writing responsibilities, including drafting of responses, meeting stakeholders and updating responses, where volume of submissions outweighs capacity for Bid Writer resource. To line manage a team of Associate Contracts Co-ordinators, Contracts Co-ordinators and Bid Writers to ensure consistent delivery of all accountabilities to all stakeholders. Hold regular 1-to-1 meetings with each team member to assess and manage individual performance. Manage team resources to ensure sufficient capacity within the team at all times (incl holidays, sickness). To ensure the systems and processes are in place to ensure pricing accuracy for all customers. Maintain a working knowledge of all business areas so that coverage can be provided during periods of sickness/annual leave where capacity requires it. Daily monitoring of automated SAP reports and investigation of any issues identified/flagged by team members. To monitor daily reports and ensure to ensure Team have carried out the relevant due diligence.  To ensure all standard supporting tender documentation is regularly reviewed for accuracy and correct representation to increase tender success. Review submissions with the Bid Writer and/or appropriate Co-ordinator prior to submission to ensure all required information is included and accurate. Conduct a thorough review of the tender outcome against the scoring criteria, updating information held on file and highlighting areas of concern (low scoring) to the business via the risk register. Work closely with the business area to ascertain whether we tolerate, treat, transfer or terminate the risk identified. Ensure compliance with all recognised and relevant standards, internally and externally, to ensure patient safety and to comply with legislation as defined by government and statutory bodies. The role holder must comply with policies or procedures relating to data privacy or information security.You will have the following qualifications and experience Experience of managing complex public sector tenders, preferably NHS Degree or equivalent preferred. Line management experience essential. Senior sales/sales management experience. Communication - ability to communicate clearly and concisely, by telephone/email and in person with internal and external customers. Organisation and time management – ability to prioritise tasks and workloads to meet deadlines. Accountable – owning the issue/project.  Being able to look beyond the immediate issue and analyse the potential ripple effect. Attention to detail. Enthusiastic and with a “can do” attitude. Be willing to learn and propose new ideas to benefit the running of the department. Special circumstances/considerations Confidential/commercially sensitive information such as customer specific pricing agreements/tender responses not to be disclosed.The setting for the role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a pharmaceutical and chemical site. These can include noise, slips, trips and falls (high-gloss floors), mechanical hazards, extreme temperature and humidity, pressurised equipment, radiation, chemical, biological, explosive atmospheres, working at height and confined spaces during cleaning maintenance and repair.
