Clerk of Works

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clerk of Works to oversee a large new hospital build for NHS Lanarkshire in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire. The project is set to commence in 2025 and is expected to complete by 2030/31, with a potential extension to cover a 2-year defects liability period.
The ideal candidates will be NEC4 accredited Supervisors with membership to the ICWCI or another recognised professional trade body. They should possess recent experience in similar roles within a healthcare setting, particularly in the inspection of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) or building works. Candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge of KSAR, Scottish hospital inquiries, Scottish IPC, Scottish HTMs and HTNs.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the quality and safety of construction works, monitoring contractors' progress, reporting on tests and inspections, and maintaining detailed site records. Candidates must also be proficient in setting up procedures for sampling and testing and assessing the contractor’s quality plan.
Relevant experience:
Healthcare construction experience Knowledge of KSAR, Scottish hospital inquiries, Scottish IPC, Scottish HTMs and HTNs Inspection of workmanship and quality Watching tests and reporting results Setting up procedures for sampling and testing Assessing and monitoring contractor’s quality plan Site diary maintenance Detailed record-keeping and reporting Certifications & Standards:
NEC4 Supervisor accreditation ICWCI Membership or equivalent CSCS card (preferred) Compliance with Scottish hospital construction standards and regulations Clerk of Works
