Speech and Language Therapist SEN School ASAP Start Role: Paediatric Band 5 / 6 Speech and Language Therapist Location: SEN School, Ealing Salary: £27,055 - £40,588 per year Contract: Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week, 42 weeks per year) Start Date: ASAP Our Special School provides top-tier education for children and young people (ages 2-19) with profound and multiple learning difficulties and sensory impairments, Autism and complex medical needs. We are seeking a dedicated Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) who is passionate about integrated working and supporting children with additional needs within an educational setting. You will be part of a large therapy team, consisting of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and other Speech and Language Therapists, providing high-quality therapy and contributing to our service development. Speech and Language Therapist - Key Responsibilities Independently manage a caseload of children with complex developmental speech and language disorders, feeding and swallowing difficulties, learning difficulties, and sensory impairments. Work collaboratively with education staff and the multi-disciplinary team to deliver a holistic service to children with sensory impairments. Utilise comprehensive assessments to form diagnoses and plan interventions. Deliver SLT interventions at school, home, or clinic as needed. Liaise with families to clarify roles, provide knowledge, and support parents in understanding and aiding their child's communication needs. Engage in ongoing CPD, with access to a protected training budget, and contribute to training programs for families and staff. Support service improvements through audit and research and help implement clinical protocols. Speech and Language Therapist- Requirements Must have a recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy, HCPC registered, and member of RCSLT. Minimum 3 years postgraduate experience, including work with children with a wide range of speech, language, and communication difficulties. Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
