The client Our client, a global leader in the supply of critical rentals and services to the oil & gas, infrastructure, power, environmental and renewable energy industries, is seeking an Electrical Workshop Technician. Purpose of Role Responsible for the day-to-day workshop duties, including the test and maintenance of company equipment, build and commissioning of new equipment, modification, and upgrades to equipment. Documentation of all testing, inventory and stock checking and ensuring workshop areas are kept clean, efficient, and safe. Roles & Responsibilities: Ensure all equipment is off hired, tested, maintained, and upgraded in accordance with system / OEM procedures and ensure all works are completed and documented to a high standard. Conduct inventories of equipment and ensure stock levels are maintained and reordered when necessary. Assist workshop team in the maintenance and preparation of systems prior to deployment. Ensure all activities are carried out with the highest regard to quality, health, safety and the environment and that safe work practices are always maintained in compliance to company QHSE policies. Ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with company processes and procedures. Liaise with Workshop Supervisor to ensure workshop and yard area are kept in a clean, presentable, and safe manner. Ensure all plant equipment and tools are operated in a safe manner. Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks and any company health and safety initiatives. Observe the company policies and procedures relating to work, administration, Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). o Act as an ambassador for safety demonstrating safe behaviours. o Live our Centurion values and apply them in day-to-day activities. The job holder may be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements. Knowledge: Electrical / Electronic mindset. Electronic / Electrical fault finding skills. Able to assemble, test and maintain electrical/electronic systems components and circuitry according to engineering instructions, technical manuals. Able to read, comprehend and to follow wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, OEM manuals and engineering instructions. Aware of principles, techniques, procedures, and the use of equipment required for the repair and maintenance of various ROV and associated sub systems is desirable. Knowledge of integration, testing and operation of various sensors that are installed on an ROV is desirable. Knowledge of High Voltage electrical switching and control systems is desirable. Able to assemble and test Fibre Optic cables / equipment is desirable. Qualifications and certification: ONC / HNC / Apprenticeship / City and Guilds within a Electronic / Electrical discipline. Recognised High Voltage Training is desirable. Experience: Maintenance and servicing of electrical / electronic equipment in a workshop / offshore environment. Experience with hand tools and workshop environments. Experience of wiring and testing electrical panels / switchgear is desirable. Working with ROV Equipment / Sensors is desirable. Personal qualities: Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail. Customer focused. Good organisational skills. Logical mindset.
