Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM Nuttall are recruiting for a Section Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in the South West of England, specifically for new work with South West Water AMP 8, Lot 2 Sewage Waste. This is initially a 5 year framework that offers excellent opportunities to those wishing to work within the Devon and Cornwall region. We will require people who are flexible to work throughout Devon and Cornwall (company car / provided allowance).

Your mission As a Section Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following:
Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policy
Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Project Quantity Surveyor within the team
Maintain effective communications with contract managers, project managers, managing/project QS and other associated disciplines
Supervise and mentor junior staff members within commercial structure
Subcontract Procurement produce subcontract enquiry documentation, issue tender enquiries, analyse tenders and compile subcontract order documents for execution
Commercial management of subcontractors including processing payments and obtaining final account agreements
Comply with the commercial timetable with regard to subcontract liabilities, forecasting and subcontract payments
Regularly obtain, review and archive all site records relating to your subcontract packages/section of works including labour and plant allocations, site diaries, photographs and record sheets
Understand, adhere to and promote company procedures
Change management
Assist in staff matters as requested
Manage, supervise and mentor your reports within the commercial structure
Provide opportunities to junior commercial staff to aid their development under the commercial training programme
Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documents
Monitor cost of site resources
Ensure timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments in accordance with the provisions of the conditions of contract
Assist with the production of insurance claims
Provide input to risk management of projects
Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time
Who are we looking for? Necessary requirements:
Quantity Surveyor/Construction qualifications
Contractor or subcontractor experience
Civil Engineering contracting experience preferable, but not essential
ICC/NEC experience preferable, but not essential
Experience of target price contracts
Good communication skills
Good IT skills
Collaborative attitude
Advantageous:

Experience of NEC / ICC form of Contract
