Senior QA Contractor

Job Specification: QA Consultant (Inside IR35) Location: Belfast Contract Duration: 6 Months (Potential for Extension) Rate: Up to £500 per day (Inside IR35) Overview: We are seeking an experienced QA Consultant to join our clients team in Belfast. This role will focus on quality assurance for a Java-based project. The ideal candidate will have experience working with big query platforms and handling large datasets. Strong skills in Linux and SQL are essential, while any knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) would be advantageous. Experience with AWS would also be considered. This is an inside IR35 position, initially for 6 months, with significant potential for extension due to the volume of work available. Key Responsibilities: Perform quality assurance testing on a Java-based project, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the system. Develop and execute test plans and test cases for large datasets and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Use SQL to query and validate large datasets to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Work with big query platforms to test data processing and ensure the system handles large-scale data operations efficiently. Manage and maintain test environments, particularly within Linux operating systems. Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver quality results. Identify, document, and track bugs, and ensure timely resolution. Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement of the testing process. Essential Skills: Proven experience in QA testing for Java-based projects. Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and testing purposes. Experience working with big query platforms and handling large datasets. Solid knowledge of Linux environments for managing and troubleshooting test environments. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Desirable Skills: Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for testing in cloud-based environments. Experience with AWS would also be considered beneficial. Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern development methodologies, such as Agile. Contract Details: Inside IR35 Rate: Up to £500 per day, depending on experience Duration: 6 months initial contract, with potential for extensions based on project demands.
