Platform Engineer

Job Title: Platform Engineer Location: London, UK Job Description We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with comprehensive knowledge of platform infrastructure and DevOps tools to join our team in London. This role will involve setting up, maintaining, and optimizing infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, and related technologies. Candidates must have hands-on experience with all required technical skills listed below. As a Platform Engineer, you will engage with senior stakeholders from internal and external teams, so excellent communication skills are essential. Responsibilities * Architect, implement, and manage platform infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Istio, and ECR. * Deploy, configure, and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and Argo CD. * Set up and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform. * Integrate monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana and Prometheus to ensure platform reliability and scalability. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement platform improvements. * Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, ensuring system stability and resilience. Required Technical Skills Candidates must have practical experience in all of the following: * AWS Services: Expertise in setting up and managing various AWS services. * Kubernetes & Istio: Proficiency in container orchestration, service mesh, and microservices management. * Docker: Strong experience in containerization and Docker best practices. * Terraform: Skilled in infrastructure as code with Terraform. * GitLab & Argo CD: Hands-on experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines. * Observability Tools: Proficient in monitoring and alerting tools, including Grafana and Prometheus. * Container Registries: Experience with ECR and other container registries. Required Soft Skills * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with senior stakeholders. * Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team environment and manage relationships with internal and external teams. * Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and resolving issues effectively. * Attention to Detail: Commitment to ensuring high-quality and efficient platform setups.
