Managing Quantity Surveyor – Tier 1 Main Contractor – Central London
Are you an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor ready to take on the challenge of managing large-scale construction projects working for a well-established and respected Tier 1 Contractor in London?
The Managing Quantity Surveyor will have a proven track record in handling complex projects, from cost control to dispute resolution, within London’s residential and regeneration sectors. As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee commercial management across multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with this contractors corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities of the Managing Quantity Surveyor:
Ensure strict budget management, review monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports, and provide financial analysis to senior management. Maintain rigorous cost control as the Managing Quantity Surveyor across projects.
Take charge of disputes and claims management, safeguarding commercial interests. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will work closely with legal teams to resolve claims efficiently and protect financial outcomes.
Mentor and lead Quantity Surveyor teams, providing strategic guidance to achieve project targets. As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Drive commercial governance, contract administration, valuations, and final accounts to ensure project success. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will proactively manage risks to meet financial and operational objectives.
Act as the primary commercial contact for clients and stakeholders, leading negotiations and project updates. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will build relationships that support long-term project success. Skills and Experience
Minimum 7 years as a Commercial Lead, preferably with a Tier 1 contractor.
Expertise in claims management, team leadership, and cost control.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field; MRICS status preferred.
Must hold UK or Irish construction experience Salary and Package for the Managing Quantity Surveyor
Up to £120,000 for the successful Managing Quantity Surveyor
