About the role: We’re seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join our dedicated team. This full-time, long-term position involves working closely with both verbal and non-verbal students, providing essential support and implementing targeted learning strategies. You’ll work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, building meaningful connections, adapting resources, and creating a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere. Application Requirements: • Experience working with children with ASD in a school setting. • Familiarity with supporting both verbal and non-verbal children. • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to improving children’s educational experiences. • Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with parents and staff. • Relevant qualifications in SEN or equivalent experience (desired but not essential). Key Responsibilities: • Provide targeted support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, fostering their academic and personal development. • Assist both verbal and non-verbal students with tailored learning strategies, promoting engagement and interaction. • Adapt classroom resources to meet individual learning needs and enhance inclusion. • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and the SEN team to monitor and report on student progress. • Encourage a safe, positive environment where students feel valued and supported in their learning journey.
