ob Title: Commercial Product Manager Location: Hybrid (Edinburgh or Cambridge) In this dynamic role, the Commercial Product Manager will work to generate a deep understanding of the drug discovery market dynamics and, on the back of that insight, affect positive internal change and delivery on the 4Ps of product, promotion, price, and place. The post-holder will have a strong business acumen matched with the ability to process complex information and communicate clearly to multiple stakeholders to affect change. To make the role work, commercial execution and attention to detail must be in equal measure. * Areas of responsibility and primary objectives * Invest in listening to our customer base and developing an innate knowledge of market and competitor dynamics to become a strong ‘voice of the customer’ * Forever look for market trends that represent opportunities for company growth. * Capture customer needs and develop clear business cases to support NPD decisions and guide multiple departments through the gated NPD process * Deliver, with clarity, engaging positioning for existing and new products and services * Be accountable for the commercial success including revenue delivery of products and services * Be accountable and responsible for maintaining key documents including master product files, information decks, pricing, and donor lists * Functions * Frequent and regular travel and customer interactions building strong and deep relationships within our marketplace, including tradeshows and customer visits * Close working engagement throughout the company, including R&D, manufacturing, and commercial groups to bring the voice of the customer to every step * Regular analysis of commercial and competitive information, driving insight resulting in tactical and strategic plans * Define market-winning features and benefits and communicate from early R&D through to product launch * Be close to pipelines, daily sales activities, stock, and manufacturing to identify challenges to delivery * Own the product launch process providing clear direction on the 4 P’s * Own the product life-cycle management/enhancement, liaising with key stakeholders * Be responsible for our positions and documentation to support freedom to operate including ethical consent, licensing, and contractual obligations Required knowledge, skills, and abilities A working knowledge of drug discovery with a high understanding of the use of cell based / in vitro model systems Understanding of regulatory background and changes which will affect the macro-environment for advanced in vitro models Commercial experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products Demonstrable experience within the life sciences sector Excellent written and verbal communication skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the field of life sciences Technical background with experience in cell reagents An individual with excellent skills in collaborative working Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams Must be able to travel internationally, on occasion with minimal notice Communication and people skills are key to the success of the department. The post holder must communicate widely with personnel at all levels internally and with suppliers and customers as required. The post holder is expected to engage in and promote positive communication within the team and the company as whole
