Job Title Printer Department Production Type Full Time Permanent 40 Hours Per Week Shift Pattern Location Millennium Way Belfast BT12 7AL Job Purpose Due to continued business growth, we are seeking to attract an experienced Printer. This is a full-time permanent role which will encompass the operation of state-of-the-art Litho printing presses, ensuring that designs are printed within a target timeframe and to Company specification and quality standards. Key Accountabilities Duties Operating Lithographic print machines from job start to finish. Identifying and ensuring that all raw material necessary to complete the jobs are available (i.e. inks, board, plates, etc.) and quality check all Job requests including, artwork and works instructions. Setting the Press to attain effective running and acceptable standard of quality by: adjusting the machine appropriately to set up board transport, ensuring correct fitting and positioning of plates and varnish free areas on substrate with form drawing. Set Image Quality, along with inking & damping ensuring no damage or blemishes Ensuring that first off approval is conducted as per the Quality Procedures and making decision on quality when working without the supervision, helping to minimize downtime. Monitor and control print quality using the appropriate documentation escalating any concerns to Senior Management. Establish optimum running speeds to achieve required efficiency targets as measured via KPIs, Checking colour consistency throughout print run to ensure the maintenance of acceptable quality standards. Checking the quality of printing on a regular basis and correcting and removing faults detected to reduce quantity of work defective Achieve targets and quality levels set by the site and ensure day to day running of print presses in the Department are fully utilised and optimised Troubleshooting to solve issues with machinery or print quality, reporting any issues as necessary. Complete all related paperwork and input data accurately. Ensure all metrics are populated on the machine Be proactive to ensure all inputs are available for the next job Recommend improvements and repairs to equipment to boost productivity Responsible for helping meet all efficiency targets, improving quality, performing basic maintenance, working safely and performing machine Health & Safety checks. Responsible for ensuring that their area, equipment and machinery are kept clean and tidy. Responsible for ensuring that all products made, and all quality checks are carried out in accordance with Company specifications Ensuring that all duties are provided in accordance with the Company compliance standards, policies and procedures/ Experience & Qualifications Essential Printing Qualification (e.g. NVQ or equivalent) Previous experience as a Litho Printer post qualification Sound technical knowledge of litho print processes Experience of checking quality of print for colour variation Excellent colour differentiation skills Good attention to detail Methodical approach with the ability to work on own initiative Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Skills/Knowledge Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed processes and procedures. Ability to proactively use your own initiative and prioritise workloads whilst maintaining deadlines . Ability to operate effectively and flexibly within a fast-paced environment and maintain standards whilst working to production schedules. Flexible to work cross-functionally across the team. Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills. Professional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
