Client: Over the past 40 years our client has established itself as an industry leading M&E contractor operating within the UK. With a turnover in excess of £300M they undertake projects in a variety of fields including Pharmaceutical, Commercial Offices, Data centres, Residential and public sectors.
Having reputable name within the industry they benefit form a large amount of repeat business, with blue chip clients including: Sir Robert McAlpine, Lend Lease, Multiple, Wates, Mace and ISg. Projects range from £1M to £50M, consisting of fit out, new build, major project and infrastructure works. As a result of increased work winning they are looking to expand their design team.
Role: MEP Design Manager - £400 - £500 per day CIS (90 week programme)
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and design management of a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility; consisting of the refurbishment of 5 buildings, including laboratory, office space and amenity areas (Project size £50m M&E).
Role/Responsibilities:
- Design the mechanical & electrical services on the project
- Delivering design and information packages meeting project programmes
- Provide appropriate design solutions for specialist customer specific requirements
- Liaise directly with the project manager/project director responsible for the project
- Attend meetings and represent the company without support
- Manage other designers and the CAD/REVIT/BIM team.
- The use of CAD/REVIT/BIM software
- Ensuring design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative requirements
- Performing engineering calculations, making reasonable assumptions to support design validity
The ideal candidate:
- 4 years + experience as a MEP designer/engineer
- Ideally have a HNC or HND and good technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical design services.
- Experience working in the pharmaceutical / commercial sector
- Have the right forward-thinking attitude
