Urban Designer Job in Central London
Our client has an Urban Designer job available in London. If you are an Urban Designer with over 3 years' experience and looking to work on high quality projects in a practice with an established reputation in the architectural industry, then this could be the role for you.
The practice's work is often featured in industry and lifestyle magazines. Their work spans across many sectors including residential, from high-end private houses through to large master planning projects of 5000+ units as well as commercial and historic buildings.
Due to major new projects, they have a requirement for an Urban Designer to join them to work on a number of master planning projects.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop masterplans for projects of varying sizes, from initial concept through outline and reserved matters planning application stages
- Work on existing housing types as well as design bespoke homes and mixed-use buildings
- Produce strategic documents such as vision statements and design codes to guide and protect project development over the life cycle
- Collaborate with the wider Urbanism team and manage small teams, while also having the ability to work independently.
Required Skills & Experience
- Possess a minimum of 3 years professional experience
- Experience working in a UK based Urban Designer or master planning role
- Ability to produce designs by hand or computer
- Working proficiency in using ArchiCAD is beneficial, but training will be provided
- Experience working on all residential project types, particularly large-scale developments would be preferable
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and British Standards.
