General Maintenance Repair Person

Job Title: General Maintenance Repair Person Job Type: Full-time 40 hours per week 8am to 5pm Pay: £26,000.00-£30,160.00 per year Job Overview A General Maintenance Repair person is required by our client and will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure that buildings, facilities, and equipment are in good working condition. The job typically involves a mix of routine and emergency maintenance, requiring a range of skills in areas such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general repairs. This is a general guideline and may be subject to changes based on the specific needs of the employer. Key Responsibilities: * Routine Maintenance: * Perform regular inspections of premises and equipment. * Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs. * Repairs: * Carry out repairs on electrical systems, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. * Fix structural damage, including doors, windows, walls, and flooring. * Repair and replace faulty or damaged components. * Emergency Maintenance: * Respond promptly to emergency repair requests. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime. * Safety Compliance: * Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations. * Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including risk assessments and safety checks. * Coordination: * Coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs or projects. * Assist in managing and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and tools. * Customer Service: * Interact professionally with building occupants and address their maintenance concerns. * Provide updates and reports to the Management team on the status of ongoing work. Required Skills and Qualifications: * Education: Relevant qualifications in maintenance-related fields (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds). * Experience: Proven experience in maintenance and repair work, ideally within a similar environment. * Technical Skills: Proficiency in a variety of maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs. * Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions. * Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environments. * Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills. * Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks. * Driving License: A valid UK driving license Working Conditions: * Environment: Work may be indoors or outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather conditions. * Safety: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
