Maintenance Technician - Mechanically Bias

Smart Solutions are working with a global leader who are seeking a Maintenance Technician with an Mechanically Bias to join their team based in Merthyr. You will provide first line maintenance response to all breakdowns within the fastest possible time, minimising any a disturbance to operations. Duties of the Maintenance Technician: * Perform maintenance and repairs on site machinery and equipment, both proactively (e.g., Preventative Maintenance) and reactively (e.g., breakdowns). * Support the installation, commissioning, and upgrade of mechanical equipment. * Ensure safe working practices at all times, adhering to health and safety protocols, procedures, permits, and safety systems. * Diagnose mechanical faults and equipment failures, identifying root causes and communicating them to relevant teams. * Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team and external contractors to ensure minimal equipment downtime. * Handover any incomplete tasks at the end of each shift to ensure continuity. * Assist with safety improvements and maintain compliance with company policies. * Record all maintenance activities and refer to technical manuals, drawings, and records as needed.
