Position: Head of Geography Location: Tower Hamlets Salary: £35000 - £57000 Start Date: January 2025 Contract Type: 1 Year Maternity Cover Fixed Term Contract, Part-Time or Full-Time Are you passionate about Geography and ready to lead a dynamic department? We are seeking a dedicated Head of Geography to join our comprehensive secondary school and sixth form in Tower Hamlets for a Maternity Cover. This is an excellent opportunity to lead our Geography department and inspire students to discover and understand the world around them. Head of Geography Responsibilities: Lead and Manage: Oversee the Geography department, including curriculum planning, lesson delivery, and field trips. Inspire Learning: Engage students with dynamic and interactive teaching methods that make geography exciting and relevant. Promote Excellence: Ensure high standards of academic achievement and student behaviour. Collaborate: Work with colleagues to integrate geography into other subjects and school-wide activities. Support Growth: Identify and nurture students' geographical skills and interests, preparing them for further education and careers. Head of Geography Requirements: Qualified Teacher: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) with a relevant Geography degree. Experience: Demonstrated experience teaching Geography at the secondary level, with a strong record of student success. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of teachers and support staff. Passion for Geography: A genuine enthusiasm for geography and a desire to make it accessible and engaging for students. Commitment: Strong dedication to student development and welfare, with a focus on creating a positive learning environment.
