Elvet Recruitment are seeking an Office Manager to join a dynamic and growing company based in Gateshead. This is a new role due to continued growth and our client is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Office Manager to take charge of the day-to-day office operations. You would be joining a team where attention to detail, efficiency, and collaboration are key to our continued success.

Job Overview:

Reporting directly to company directors, you will be the first point of contact for clients and employees, ensuring that the office runs smoothly and efficiently. This role involves a blend of administrative tasks, team coordination, and project support. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage office operations including supplies, equipment maintenance, and general administration.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for client inquiries via phone and email.
  • Oversee internal office procedures, ensuring policies are up-to-date and followed.
  • Handle bookings, coordinate team meetings, and organise travel arrangements for staff.
  • Attend senior management meetings, drafting reports and minutes as needed.
  • Ensure all office hardware, software, and systems are updated and functioning efficiently.
  • Support the project management team with administrative tasks, reporting, and client communication.
  • Maintain oversight of health and safety (H&S) requirements and company insurance.
  • Monitor and manage company websites, ensuring content is current.
  • Seek out ways to improve efficiency in office operations, procedures, and systems.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors, providing excellent customer service.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Office Manager or in a similar administrative role.
  • Ability to juggle the demands of a busy office environment and work within a small, close-knit team.
  • Advanced IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft365 and cloud-based tools (e.g., Dropbox etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a high standard of English.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Reliable, discreet, and trustworthy, with a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Experience in the land surveying or geomatics profession is preferred but not essential.
