The Health and Safety Adviser (Capital Works and Contracts) role is a critical position responsible for providing competent and professional health and safety advice and support to Council services, ensuring continuous improvement in performance. You will support the Senior Health and Safety Adviser (Property and Trades) by aiding the development, implementation, promotion, review, and monitoring of the Council s Health and Safety Management Systems and associated policies and procedures.
As an integral part of the team, you will have the chance to work closely with professionals from diverse departments, gaining invaluable exposure to the inner workings of a dynamic and impactful organisation. Your efforts will directly contribute to the seamless functioning of our operations, ultimately enabling us to better serve the community. This role provides a platform for personal growth and development, offering the opportunity to refine your people management skills and expand your professional horizons in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will hold:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- GradIOSH, CertIOSH or CMIOSH status
- Relevant experience working on projects and contracts
- Experience of providing competent health and safety advice in the public sector
- Practical application of occupational health and safety legislation
- Excellent communication skills
- IT proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
