Import Coordinator

Job Vacancy: Import Operator Location: Southampton, on site Shifts: 08:00am - 16:30pm, 09:00am - 17:30pm We are looking for an experienced Import Operator to join our dynamic and fast-paced team in our Southampton office, located in a new, modern building near Red Funnel. This role will be managing shipments, clearances, and deliveries for a major retailer, ensuring high attention to detail and working effectively under tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Manage customs clearance processes, focusing on accuracy. Handle daily shipments, invoicing, and reporting Ensure all paperwork is processed, verified, and compliant. Liaise with delivery teams and handle booking formalities. Collaborate with the team to meet tight deadlines, especially in the mornings. Manage reports and maintain high levels of accuracy in shipment tracking. Requirements: Minimum of 2+ years' experience in freight forwarding, import, or customs clearance. Strong Excel skills, with the ability to handle large data sets and reports. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and self-sufficiency. Experience in logistics software e.g. CargoWise desirable Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work flexibly, with the option for up to 10 hours of overtime when required. Ideal Candidate: Forwarding or clearance experience is a significant advantage. Able to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with various teams and clients. This is a varied role within a small team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the position after training.
