Amazons diverse online business requires VAT filings in a number ofjurisdictions across Europe and creates specific VAT compliance obligationsrelating to third parties (3P) that sell via our websites. These 3Pobligations are the responsibility of the European VAT Compliance &Controllership team (VAT C&C;) which is located primarily in London andBratislava. We are looking for a smart, passionate candidate with experiencein business analytics, programming (RPA’sPython) and data mining. In this role, you will be supporting teams across Europe and International,and will work cross-functionally across businesses and technology teams tounderstand current processes and their opportunities for automation. You willlead process and productivity improvements, with a focus on the tools used byTax managers, Compliance and Business analysts. Key job responsibilities • Process improvement Productivity improvement of VAT compliance andcontrollership teams and identification of opportunities for automation • Automate manual deep dives through automatingfastening data extraction andvalidation tasks • Collaborating with business stakeholders in the central team to deliverimpactful findings in various areas • Collect requirements from end-users, customers to create the best automationstrategies • Collaborate with other tech departments to understand how automation canimprove Amazon’s productivity • Liaising with key business partners and senior management (includingdirectors) in order to align priorities and define best in class processes toserve Amazon’s employees A day in the life As a Senior Tax analyst, you would analyze processes and drive improvements byscalable automation through SQL and other analytical tools. The successfulcandidate will be highly data-centric with good exposure in business analysisdata analytics automation. They would have good experience in digging deepinto data to identify areas of improvement in business or operations. Asuccessful candidate should be experienced in working with large data sets, betech-interested, and an ability to work with minimum guidance ### BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelors degree - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advancedlevel - 2+ years of experience in data mining Python programming computerprogramming - 2+ years of leading a team in FinanceTaxCorporate environment - Proficiency in Python (PandasNumpySelenium) and HTML, CSS and Javascript - Fluent in English ### PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Proven record of operational excellence and defect reduction - Strong stakeholder management with ability to seek out for feedback and tooversee opportunities for automation - High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple, competingpriorities simultaneously - Proficiency in SQL - A proven track record of being an innovative leader, with the ability toidentify opportunities and influence organizations to gain support andovercome resistance with data and persuasion - Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, OperationsResearch, Math, Statistics, Finance, Economics or similar - Business Analysts or similar experience in past requiring good exposure inSQL, Tableau, MS Excel and other analytical tools Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
