Head of Rail Operations | Kineton / National | JR2408_0093 Ready to lead our rail network? YOUR ROLE As we expand our rail services, the Head of Rail Operations and Safety will play a critical role in ensuring safety, implementing strategic rail initiatives, and driving benefit realisation for our program. This role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with all rail legislation, MOD rail regulations, and industry standards. The Head will lead the safe, cost-effective management of daily rail operations while supporting our growth ambitions, improving management systems, and advising on commercial and contractual issues. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for both healthy and safe rail operations promoting a culture of zero harm Ensure all rail KPI's are delivered on a weekly, monthly, annualised basis. Functionally responsible as the subject matter expert to facilitate an increase in rail freight across the contract. Facilitate timely and efficient implementation of future rail strategy initiatives, delivering on the Customer's green agenda Deliver on proposed strategy and work with Customer to facilitate an increase of rail transport across the contract. Provide project management governance and expertise on all new rail operational opportunities Create, manage and monitor rail budget for Business as usual and any new projects. Develop and enforce compliance legal requirements regulations and operating standards. Ensure that rail operations are delivered in line with industry good practice YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES Detailed knowledge of operational rail safety. Full understanding of rail legislation and national standards Understanding commercial and contractual matters in the rail freight sector. Ability to clearly articulate the right message to audiences at various levels, both internal/external Create, manage and monitor rail budget for BAU and any new projects.
