Locomotive Technician

We are looking for a Locomotive Technician for our busy locomotive depot in Peterborough. Due to increased demand, working within commercial rail freight our client is looking proactive team players to assist with the refurbishment and servicing of Freight Locomotives.   The role as a Locomotive Technician. Carry out maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification and fault finding on locomotives. Lead engineer for contracts, projects or tasks as necessary to support operational performance. Part of the Engineering Services On-Call Roster, providing technical assistance over the phone or in the field as required. Updating SAP system to ensure availability of parts Inputting of data into the locomotive history tracking system. Assist other engineers on the team. Adhere to strict H&S Policy. Carry audits in line with Company quality management standards and processes. Work in line with legislation and rail industry requirements. Qualifications & Experience required to be successful in Locomotive Technician’s Role Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent experience ( Mechanical) BTEC National Certificate /ONC in Engineering or European equivalent. Personal Track Safety Driving license The following isn’t essential, but it will enhance your application: FLT License Crane & Jack Operation experience Benefits to you as a locomotive technician. Basic Salary from £37,600 including shift allowance  Mornings & Afternoons + 1 in 5 weekends Paid overtime. Holiday, pension, sick pay benefits.
