Canteen Cook

About the Role: New Resource Recruitment is currently seeking a Canteen Cook to join our client in Melksham for a 3-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will primarily support the Canteen Supervisor in daily operations and step in to deputise during their absence. This position offers a great work-life balance with no evening, weekend, or bank holiday shifts. Key Responsibilities: * Open and close kitchen procedures * Daily kitchen management * Cash handling and end-of-day reporting * Food ordering and preparation * Maintaining high kitchen hygiene standards * Serving food and managing the service counter * Stocking and cleaning vending machines * General cleaning of canteen tables What We’re Looking For: * Minimum of 3 years of experience in the hospitality and catering industry * Strong working knowledge of the Safer Food, Better Business Manual * Ability to manage daily kitchen operations and handle cash * Experience in food preparation, ordering, and maintaining cleanliness standards Benefits: * 30 hours per week (with a paid 20-minute break) * Uniform provided * Monday to Friday shifts, no evenings, weekends, or bank holidays Interested in applying?
