Maintenance & Driver

Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. They will perform general maintenance, repairs, and renovations on our commercial properties. They will also be responsible for transporting goods, equipment, and furniture for us. It will require basic handling and loading skills, and a willingness to help out where needed with a positive attitude. The ideal candidate should have a wide range of repair skills, be highly organized, punctual and able to work independently and part of a small team with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities: • General Repairs: Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and minor repairs. • Installation: Install appliances, fixtures, and other items as needed (e.g., doors, windows, shelves). • Painting: Touch-ups and full painting jobs for both indoor and outdoor surfaces. • Safety Checks: Conduct inspections and identify potential hazards or maintenance needs. • Furniture Assembly: Assemble and disassemble furniture or equipment as required. • Emergency Repairs: Respond to urgent maintenance calls as needed. • Material Sourcing: Purchase necessary tools and materials for repairs while staying within budget. • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with the team to understand and address their needs. • Clean-up: Ensure all workspaces are left clean and organized after tasks are completed. • Transporting goods: safely and efficiently – office furniture, equipment, Samples • Loading and unloading: safely load and unload items insuring they are properly secured during transit to prevent damage • Vehicle Maintenance: Keep Van clean, well maintained, Inspections are carried out MOT & Insurance etc • Paperwork: Maintain accurate record of jobs completed, mileage & fuel expenses • Compliance: Follow road safety laws and ensure safe and secure transport of goods Requirements: • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role. • Skills: • Proficiency in a variety of repair skills including plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, and painting. • Problem solving, good communication • Valid Driving licence • Physical Fitness – ability to lift and move heavy objects, sometimes up and down stairs and through narrow spaces Benefits • Employee discount with 50% off for employees. • Friend and Family discount with 20% off. • 25 days Holiday per year plus recognised UK National Holidays Who We Are Founded in 2015, Varley is a fashion brand rooted in movement.
