Housing Benefit Assessment Officers Haringey £22 per hour (umbrella) Full Time Contract (4 Months) Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Housing Benefit Assessment Officers in Haringey. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours. The job: Assess applications, statements and evidence for accuracy, request additional evidence, where necessary, and calculate entitlement in accordance with legislation and local policies Ensure ongoing entitlement is correct by investigating and processing change of circumstances quickly and accurately in accordance with legislation and local policies and procedures To undertake reviews of entitlement as and when required, utilising information from all relevant sources. Correctly determine overpaid amounts of benefit, decide whether the overpayment is recoverable, identify the liable party and commence appropriate recovery action Determine and advise on applications for discretionary funds, such as Discretionary Housing Payments.The candidate: Minimum of 2 years experience of all HB assessment including New Claims, Atlas, VEPs, HBAA and all change of circumstances Experience of assessing claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support is essential Good knowledge of iWorld and (email address removed) systems is desirablePlease submit your application via the contact details provided and you will be contacted with further information about this opportunity or email your CV to me directly; or call me on; (phone number removed)
