Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting SONE Products Ltd, a market leading specialist in the design and manufacture of plastic packs for liquids with their search for a Production Manager. Overall Purpose: To lead and manage the company's production assembly areas alongside the logistics, quality, production control and engineering departments, whilst delivering a progressive learning environment, ensuring the company operates in a safe manner to meet the demands of the customer, on time, within cost and to the required quality standard. The role is part of the senior management team with the key objective of implementing continuous improvements within a fast-moving flexible environment with direction from the Board of Directors.Key Duties: Set priorities, task lists and objectives for the departments. Hold production meeting alongside the Moulding Manager. Development of subordinates to a high standard of integrity and skill. Ensure effective planning and organisation to meet customer expectations and requirements are met. Oversee audits on delivery, quality, performance, Health and Safety, operational issues and attendance. Monitor machinery to ensure it is working effectively and efficiently. Undertake budget monitoring and control of the departments. Budget planning, set-up and monitor effective reporting and tracking systems within the departments. Ensure effective and efficient usage of labour through the annualised hours and roster system. Ensure effective action plans are in place when loading and labour resources exceed capacities. Undertake performance appraisals with direct reports. Ensure effective resource allocation, including machines, tools, materials and labour. Identify and plan training and development needs for staff. Support internal and external quality issues relating to production. Lead production initiatives and designated projects. Instill a positive lean culture into your team. Oversee H&S risk assessments, audits and accident investigations. Make investment recommendations to improve the manufacturing performance. Ensure compliance for all management systems are in place, to control processes and systems. Ensure effective start up and shutdown procedures. Required to regularly challenge employees on current working methods and to encourage change for improvement throughout the organisation. Required to make suggestions for business improvement to the Directors. Required to make presentations internally and to external organisations when required. Required to attend and chair a number of meetings. Key Requirements: The post holder should have experience within an engineering or production/manufacturing environment, preferably at a management level. Experience of Leading, managing and motivating staff is essential. Experience of delivering lean manufacturing initiatives would be an advantage. Experience of ERP systems would be an advantage. Experience in ISO (Apply online only) would be preferred. IOSH certificate in Health & Safety. Ideally Degree or HNC/HND in mechanical or process/production engineering.
