Location: St Marys Stadium, Southampton Hours: Full Time, no set hours Contract Type: Permanent Criminal Record Check: Basic What is the role? We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our brand-new pub located within St Marys Stadium. This exciting role offers the opportunity to create outstanding dining experiences for fans and visitors on match days and throughout the week. Youll be responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu development to ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. What will you be doing? As Head Chef, you will take a pro-active role in food quality, menu planning, food trends and financial management. You will review working practices to ensure efficiency and effectiveness amongst your team. Other responsibilities include: Designing creative and seasonal menus.
Managing stock levels, ordering ingredients and gross profit margins to ensure smooth operations.
Ensuring food safety, hygiene and health standards are met consistently throughout the kitchen.
Training, mentoring and supervising kitchen team to maintain efficiency and quality.
Collaborating with the pub management team to create a seamless dining experience and optimise service.
Overseeing the budgeting and cost control for the kitchen, focusing on minimising waste and maximising profitability.
What are we looking for? We are looking for a Head Chef with proven experience leading a kitchen in a fast-paced environment, ideally in a pub or event venue setting. Youll need strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and manage your team effectively. We are ideally looking for experience from fresh food backgrounds, you will be responsible for developing industry leading menus utilising seasonal and British ingredients. Youll also need a deep understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards to ensure compliance and maintain high standards. The ideal candidate will thrive under pressure particularly during busy match days, while delivering an exceptional dining experience for our fans. Flexibility is key, as youll need to manage the demands of match days, events and daily service with ease. What do you get in return?
