Financial Accountant/System Migration Specialist - 12 Month FTC

SMC827 – Financial Accountant /System Migration Project Management – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Overview: Exciting opportunity to join an established, international Non-Banking Financial Institution. The successful candidate will assist in managing an Oracle system migration project, and will be responsible for developing and managing operational accounting control functions. This role will entail leading projects across the division, liaising with internal/external stakeholders and conducting technical accounting-based research and analysis projects. Responsibilities include: * Completing projects / highly specialised assignments in support of department initiatives. * Participating in and/or leading projects related to accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting and/or policy and procedure review. * Assisting with Oracle system migration project. * Championing improvement and implementation of new and existing accounting processes. * Creating business requirements documents and functional requirements, and testing/implementing these. * Providing accounting and operational support throughout the department. * Supporting the monthly general ledger closing for an assigned area, including analysing and interpreting account fluctuations and monthly/quarterly reporting. * Reviewing accounting transaction documentation, identifying/assisting in resolving accounting issues and variances. * Ensuring timely implementation of internal and external audit points. * Ad-hoc duties. Skills/Experience: * Fully qualified Accountant (i.e. ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). * Educated to degree level or equivalent in Accounting or related field. * Strong working knowledge of Oracle. * Previous experience of assisting with/project managing system migration process. * Experience of developing and implementing financial controls. * Strong understanding of financial risk. * Experience in the application of GAAP principles – Beneficial * Experience in the application of IFRS Accounting Standards – Beneficial Unfortunately, due to the large volume of applications that we receive, we are not always able to provide individual feedback on each application/CV that we receive.
