Junior Estimator - Steelwork Contractor - Essex A well-established company based in Essex with years of experience in the architectural and secondary steelwork industry is seeking a Junior Estimator to join their busy team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to various projects and operations. The Junior Estimator will support the Sales & Estimating Manager in preparing and submitting tenders. Junior Estimator Duties & Responsibilities: Collaborate with team members to help secure new orders. Assist estimators in determining costs for current and potential projects. Estimate costs for materials and labor required for project completion. Source materials and research pricing for equipment hire. Communicate effectively with the pre-construction team, directors, clients, and consultants. Follow established estimating processes and assist in managing tenders. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and consultants. Contribute to the handover process from estimating to contract stage. Provide data for the evaluation of supply chain performance. Attend meetings with clients, designers, quantity surveyors, etc., as needed. Visit project sites as required to gain insights into scope and contract specifications. Requirements: A commitment to expanding your skills and being part of a dynamic organization. Relevant Commercial or Construction degree, or equivalent vocational training. Proven ability to meet deadlines. Some experience in cost estimation for construction projects. Ability to work effectively under pressure and within time constraints. Strong attention to detail, with excellent numeracy and literacy skills. Ability to work independently and use initiative. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Flexibility and reliability. Previous experience in the construction industry is preferred. What We Offer: Salary up to £35,000 + benefits package.
