IT Service Transition Manager

IT Service Transition Manager needed for this enterprise sized blue chip. As part of their IT transformation strategy, they are seeking a Service Transition Manager to take ownership of critical IT outsourcing projects to third-party suppliers and managed service providers (MSPs). The Role This role is all aboutmanaging the end-to-end transition and outsourcing of IT servicesto third-party vendors. As theService Transition Manager, youll be responsible for ensuring the smooth handover of IT services, mitigating risks, and making sure service continuity is maintained throughout. You will lead high-profile outsourcing initiatives, overseeing every step of the process to ensure service delivery meets operational and business goals. Key Responsibilities : Take full ownership of end-to-end IT service transitions to third-party suppliers and MSPs, ensuring seamless integration and delivery. Lead and manage the outsourcing of IT functions, ensuring robust governance and accountability from third-party partners. Work closely with internal teams, senior stakeholders, and external suppliers to drive successful transitions, ensuring SLAs are met or exceeded. Conduct risk assessments, service validation, and post-transition support to guarantee service stability. Provide strong leadership during the early life of transitioned services, managing incidents and ensuring the third-party service is fully operational. What Were Looking For: Proven experience in managing IT service transitions and outsourcing , ideally within a professional services environment. Hands-on experience working with third-party providers or MSPs, including negotiation and SLA management. Expertise in ITIL frameworks (especially Service Transition) and solid change management capabilities. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels. Desirable : Professional services sector experience is highly desirable, with a deep understanding of client-driven environments and complex service delivery.
