Placement Officer – Children’s Social Care Initial 3-month interim contract likely to extend to 12 months+ £255 per day (umbrella) Inside IR35 London, Local Authority- Hybrid working An exciting new opportunity has arisen within a local authority in London for an experienced Placement Officer– Children’s Social Care for an initial 3-month interim period but likely to extend up to 12 months. The successful post holder will have specific knowledge of Children’s placements within local authority/3rd sector environments across Fostering, Residential and/or respite services. As the placements officer you will work with private and 3rd sector providers to ensure children’s placement needs are met, considering best match and costings are considered. About your duties as the Placement Officer – Children’s Social Care: Focus on building relationships with current and new providers. The team focus on placement finding within Residential, Fostering and Care Leavers housing support. The team support children and young people up the age of 25. Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to, placement searching, compliance checks, diligence to ensure relevant checks have been completed, Data Management and feeding as appropriate to the Data Lead and managing the Duty Inbox.  Identify and arrange person centred, cost-effective care and support to meet the needs of a range of customers.  Your experience needed as the Placement Officer– Children’s Social Care: Preferably a placement commissioning background, you will need to be aware of children's placements and it is essential to have children's residential knowledge. Must evidence teamwork, flexibility, and good at talking to providers. Ability to gather and analyse data on needs, services and performance using a range of sources to support effective brokerage. Ability to work in a collaborative and constructive way with others as part of a team.
