Automation Engineer
NXT is proud to be working in partnership with an international manufacturer as we recruit for an automation engineer.
Job Type: Permanent Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday) Salary: Up to £55,000 (Experience dependent)
The role:
As an automation engineer, you will be a self-motivated problem solver dealing with new and existing projects using various manufacturing systems & PLCs. You will report to senior engineers to help and play a key role in the business's improvements, as well as take the lead on various projects.
Key aspects:
Participate in reviewing maintenance, electrical, mechanical, and breakdown records to make sure the preventive maintenance schedule matches the breakdown history.
* Development of new PLC programs and software upgrades
* Make sure to follow all safety rules when using machines, systems, or chemicals.
* Make sure to input complete information into the CMMS
* Make sure to follow hazardous area rules for installations and PM’s
* Keep all site machinery software updated, modified, and compliant.
* Make sure to create and keep software backups to safeguard machinery automation.
* Creating new custom systems and controls as needed.
* Participate in or oversee team or individual projects as needed.
Essential Qualifications:
* Engineering qualification; HNC with industrial experience
* Experience within a Manufacturing Environment
* Proven PLC knowledge and ability in relation to fault finding and programming. (Ladder Logic, C+, Structured text)
* Experience with vision control systems
