Design And Development Engineer

1 Generate 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings * 2 Perform a variety of design processes in areas such as aerodynamics, thermodynamics & fluid mechanics, mechanical systems and mechanisms * 3 Support the development & qualification of new technology such as sensors, controllers, pumps, coatings, materials etc. * 4 Contribute to the creation of compliance documents such as test reports, design/analysis reports, safety assessments etc. * 5 Provide support for legacy programs to all stakeholders (manufacturing, operators, OEM’s) * 6 Development of in-house software and engineering tools that can be demonstrated to reduce costs, increase quality or expand existing capability * 7 Assist practical work – building prototypes, machines, assembling test rigs etc. Key Performance Indicators/Behaviours * Exhibits a commitment to learning new skills and knowledge relevant to the industry & role * Preparedness to tackle a broad range of tasks covering administrative, practical & analytical areas * Projects & tasks are measured against quality, cost and delivery of goals * Feedback from team members and customers/stakeholders * Actively disseminates/shares knowledge with colleagues in order to promote professional development and accelerate technical projects and tasks Qualifications & Training * Undergraduate Engineering Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering. Or * Lower-level qualification combined with industry experience Qualities and Attitude * Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers * Able to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and customers * Strong organizational skills * Keen attention to detail * Can produce new and original ideas and concepts * Ability to Problem Solve * Self-motivated * Values and promotes rigorous documentation and recording of data * Commercially focused Product Knowledge/IT Packages * Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * 3D & 2D CAD modelling software * Data analysis software such as Matlab * DAQ and control software such as NI Labview
